Windows 7: missing task manager

I had this problem so I searched and found this thread. I tried the ctrl-shift-esc and nothing happened even after several tries. Then I tried "clicking on the blank area to the right of the show processes from all users" and menu re-appeared.

It worked for me

I am trying to start Windows Task Manager and I am getting a message that states windows cannot find C:\Windows\System32\taskmgr.exe. Make sure you type the name correctly and try again. Not sure how this happened, Maybe I have a virus...I need some help here. Thanks
