Welcome

Hi,I'm Jody.I've been visiting this site for a couple of months now and have gleaned unmeasurable wisdom from many of the threads.I was needing some help with a certain problem and thought I'd post my system specs beforehand;yet when I try to access the page for this I am denied access.I am extremely grateful to all.I also am new to computers and am amazed at the potential.

Welcome the forum, Jody.

Go to your User CP at the top of the page, look in the left column and click on Edit system specs. Filling in your specs will help us help you.

You can make this easier by downloading
Speccy.

Hi to Sticky and all the members of SevenForums

Surely glad I found you as while I am a fairly experienced computer person on previous versions of Windows (but not Vista) - right now I feel like are real dummy.

I have just completed a clean install on the old desktop of W7 pro 32-bit and bought a new laptop with w7 pro 64-bit installed. This is a whole new world but one that really is looking interesting - once I fumble my way around a bit.

I belong to a local computer club and can get some help there but not as instantly or as completely as this forum might give me.

My first post was about how to change the setting I accidently set and now my laptop continually wants to flip over to a "locked" setting. The lock can be found when you click on the "Shut down"; one of the several choices found at that button. Certainly, I can switch user but that gets to be a real pain after a bit. Surely would love to "fix it" back to an unlocked state permanently.

Welcome to the forum, kinhunter25. There are a lot of us that migrated to Win 7 from XP skipping Vista. I think you are really going to like Win 7. It is very different from XP.
