First I'd like to say HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP! (I probably should read the How To Ask For Help topic first.)
I live in Michigan. I'm a grandmother. No pets. Many interests. Not sure what else folks would like to know about me.
I'm a new Windows 7 (Home Premium) user having been dragged kicking and screaming away from XP after I was dragged kicking and screaming away from Win 95 after being dragged kicking and screaming away from DOS. (I don't like leaving things I've gotten comfortable with. ) I've just gotten my very first (albeit budget) laptop. I've never used touchpads, wifi, etc before as well.
I'm VERY VERY glad you folks are here. I've spent about 4 hours perusing various sections. Right now I'm dealing with a 24kpbs dialup connection on my DDD (Dying Dinosaur Desktop). Your forums are very slow dialup friendly for me. I like how the tutorials are being done as well.
~~cheerily waves see ya as she runs off to find the newbie section to ask the inevitable newbie question that gets regulars giggling~~
Welcome my friend,
Make sure you go in and edit your profile and specs of you computer. This will help us help you.
If you have a need for help do a search in windows 7 forum to see if someone else's problem is the same as yours. That way you can get your feet wet here in our forum.
Thank you. I just filled in as much of that info as I could locate off my new laptop. I'll need to dig around the forum to see how to locate the rest of it.
Kari,
Thank you. No, I didn't notice that yet but I do appreciate the info if it does get hard for me to load a particular thread.
I'm still using my DDD for online purposes until I get the info I need to put the security measures in place to protect the laptop the best I can.
