    Popup programs

When ever I turn on my laptop and log in, MSN/Windows Live Messenger pops up and I just can't seem to get rid of it. Yes, I have checked the startup folder in control panel or where ever, but it won't go away. Can anyone help me to get rid of it?

    Hi Grogner7

Beside the picture placeholder, in Windows Messenger, is a question mark that can be used to open a drop-down menu.

    1. Scroll to the bottom to "Show the Menu Bar" and enable it - a tick symbol will appear beside the selected item
    2. Your menus will appear at the top of the window
    3. Go to Tools>Options>Under the Sign In Pane >General
    4. Untick "Automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log into Windows
    5. If you ever need to re-enable it, just type messenger in the search pane under the start orb

    Hope this helps and regards

If you type msconfig, in search, then right click on it, then run as administrator. Is it checked as a starup item? If it is uncheck it.

Msconfig>right click run as administrator (do not hit enter).

Not a problem; the search facility is in no way full-proof anyhow.
