Just a thought Where did your copy of Win7 come from? A retail copy in a box, a download, an update? Reason i ask this because i think a re-install is on the cards here but there might be a less drastic way.

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

Have you tried this:

right click on start menu and select properties
go to start menu tab and select customize button
press the use default settings button and then ok

-sfc/scannow to check any windows corrupted fles

Windows 7 search for files&folders...can i make it search like XP?
I asked this when i first got 7 about 1.5 years ago, but i never found a good replacement to make 7's file search anywhere near as good or similar as the XP search. Now 1.5 year later, is there anything like that?
