    Icon Problem

Well, I installed this theme from Stardock which of course changed all the icons on my computer. After I made it restore the default Windows 7 theme, the folder icons were not restored. The shortcuts, hard-drive icons and everything was back to normal, but in my pictures folder, the folders remained the same ones as the previous theme. I tried lot's of ways, editing the registry etc. and lot's of guides on this site. But, it just won't do it!

    Any help would be appreciated!

Oh boy, I walked someone through a restore of icons after stardock messed up his system in another forum a while back. He was successful after a few steps. Here's what I started with for him:

First off, make a system restore point.

Now, look for imageres.dll.mui in System32 folder. Rename it back to imageres.dll. You might have to take ownership and/or turn off UAC while you are doing this. This in itself may restore your original icons.

    If not I found this:

    And this:

    Restoring the original Windows icons

See if this doesn't work for you, then report back. If need more detailed instructions, post back and I, or someone, will walk you through taking ownership, turning off UAC, etc.

Thanks for the help man, I read all of those forums, and after trying a bunch of their ways, it didn't really work out. However, I fixed it by downloading IconPackager from Stardock, applying a random theme in it, then, using IconPackager, set my icons back to Windows 7 defaults! I think that should fix it. Now all I have to do is just delete the program and it'll all be good again.
