    Start Menu-menu

    Hi all,

I am having a problem with the start menu item that have their own list, i.e., Getting Started and IE etc. I click on the arrow to open the list, but when I move the mouse over the list it vanishes. No chance to select anything. Happens with all of these. I've tried clicking on the arrow, no good. I've rebooted, no help. Anyone else having this problem or have any ideas?

    Hi Gary,

It's real sensitive on the timing to move over to the expanded area. You'll have to move it quickly over to a listed item and not around any blank area around the top or bottom of the expanded area. It takes a bit of practice to get use to it. I found that pining Internet Explorer to the Start Menu pin area and playing with it is easier to practice on at first.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Thanks Shawn. I see what you mean. Seems to me that it worked fine the first time I tried it with sticky notes yesterday. Practice, practice.

Edit:Give this a try. Move the mouse over the arrow and let the list open. Then right click on the little arrow. This will, of course bring up the open/pin menu. Move the mouse across/over this menu and then to a blank space on the list, if what you want is covered, or to the item you want to select and click. When I click on a blank spot on the list, open/pin menu disappears and the list remains. More work than it should be, but works and maybe they'll get that fixed by final release.

Yeah, it was not that sensitive with build 6801. Hopefully MS will work it out.

Everyone might send feedback to MS to help get their attention on it though.
