I don't want either of these pictures. I want to display Windows is activated, my product ID, and that's all...that thing with ask for genuine might seem like my windows isn't original, which is stupid...Perhaps it should say Enjoy Your OS, or something like that

Lets try to get this into proportion. The OP doesn't like the MS Logo on the Activation part of the Properties Page. He says quote: that thing with ask for genuine might seem like my windows isn't original, which is stupid
The wording on the Logo reads "Ask for Genuine MS Software" This is a normal Microsoft Advert to promote its software and try to discourage the use of pirated software. It no way suggests that the user has anything other that legal software. This, in my view is a perfectly legitimate way to promote MS software. All software companies use this type of advertising, it is a normal business practice. MS is a company out there to make a profit, that's what they do. The logo is part of the Windows program and would require recoding to delete it. That would be contravening the licence that we all accept before installing Windows 7. It has been said before on this thread but I would suggest again that if you don't like the logo, it's easy enough to avoid looking at it and anyway how often do you need to open Properties. I would guess that there are millions of Windows 7 users in the world who have never looked at that page and probably never will. Lets all agree in the spirit of the Forum move on to more important things! There I've had my say and that for me is the end of it! Sorry but you are stuck with the Logo, like it or not! |

A question about removing Windows 7 from HDD I just installed Windows 7 on a new SSD and now want to use the HDD that previously contained the same copy of Windows 7, as a storage drive. The problem I am having is that when I hook the old HDD back up into my system, Windows won't bring it online because of a signature conflict. I know I could... |
