Right click in All Programs lasts for a second

Heya,

I'm having a problem with the start menu. When I go into All Programs and right click on a program or folder, the menu lasts for one second then the start menu closes, but it does not select anything or do anything. I don't even have time to actually click something.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated, or ask if I'm not making myself clear.
Thx

Hello Hdk,

Usually restarting the computer will be able stop this from happening for you afterwards.

Hope this helps,
Shawn

Nope, I'm afraid it does not. I have restarted several times and it still happens.

Ok. If available, you can try a system restore using a restore point dated before this problem started.

I was afraid it would come to tha, but I think restoring is probably the only way to get it back to normal. Thanks anyway

However, here we are in August and windows is still adding daily backup...

Brand new W7 laptop but battery lasts less than hour!
Wondering if you can give me some advice here folks. I have a brand new laptop (since last Thursday) with Home Premium pre-installed and really happy with it. It's an HP Compaq CQ61, and I'm not suggesting it's the most powerful laptop (AMD Athlon Dual Core M320) but I'm happy with it. Just one...

Right click menu on programs in the taskbar
In Vista and older versions, if I right clicked on a program in the taskbar I could then move the mouse up ever so slightly to click "close." Now there is a weird little "box" that pops up instead of a menu, and I have to move my mouse significantly further to get to "close." Sounds trivial,...
