Again thanks for all the information you all have given me!

As for my printer scanner, Windows was able to install the drivers but i have yet to test it maybe I'll be lucky and it will work for me?! Then I can save up for a wireless ALL in ONE I do have enough USB ports (4) to support a wired one although i am already using 2 100% of the time, one is for my mouse and the other is for my cooling pad (even without the fans on the cooling pad the aluminum stays pretty cool to the touch much more than the wood table it would be on instead) It also lifts my keyboard to an ergonomic typing position. The third port i have is used by a USB LED light i use often in low light situations to see my keyboard and such. Also the ability to print from any location in my home is a plus rather than having to be within about 12 feet of my printer.

I have installed MSE and i will do my own evaluation on the add block applications you have recommended. I am leaning towards Malwarebytes only because i know of it but that's not a good reason to use it without even trying the others. So i will start with SuperAntiSpyware and if i do not like it i will go for Malwarebytes. I will though want to use WinPatrol is the free version good enough?

So far i am VERY happy with the information you all have given me all i need to do now is find out how to do a CLEAN install and still get some of the apps i want/need for this laptop. I will have to research that, my only problem is I dont have a Install disk. Can i Extract that somehow from my recovery Partition. (Also i would like to remove it but would that in anyway void my warranty?)

Currently I am not worried about warranty as i purchased the best buy advanced warranty, although i would never take my pc to be repaired by Geek Squad but I have accident protection so When something happens i am more likely to get a replacement rather than having it fixed (as long as they have the laptop for sale though) IDK but i was told i could drop my laptop and crack the screen and it is covered until may 2012.

So right now i think i am squared away the only thing i dont know about it how to acquire a Windows Disk? I dont want to download a Cracked version as i dont want to be running an OS with thing messed up in it that could cause problems. So I dont know where to download a CLEAN copy? maybe i can find something that comes with a unedited (un-cracked) version that has some sort of crack to go with it, that i will not use? If anyone can help me in this area I would appreciate the information. I have read on Lifehacker how you can delete one file from the ISO and then you can install any version you have the product key for in my case "Windows Seven Home Premium" and from what i have looked at online the extra features i might gain from ultimate or any other version is not needed and I dont think what i would gain would be worth the extra $100 or so it costs I am not sure of the pricing but the version of W7 I have i am pretty happy with.

Is iot a possibility to extract the Winjdows ISO from my Recovery Partiotion? Someone posted above how to extract programs oi might want but the os in a whole IDK yet as i have yet to try this. Before i do does anyone know yay or nay on extracting the OS from the recovery files? Also will it void a warranty if i remove the partition as i know i cannot open my laptop even just to look at it without voiding my warranty (something i paid for and i intend to take full advantage of, I already have as i accidentally popped out a key and then another popped out trying to replace it, sadly the keyboard keys do not just snap in although i can get a replacement if such a thing happened again. Also Since i have Accidental Coverage I plan on trying to get the most of my PC and if possible get a replacement before my warranty runs out LOL. I paid for it and when they send them back they get money back so it doesn't bother me and personally i dont think Best Buy is hurting for money at the moment. LOL

Lastly an ODD question that is Firefox Related. Is it just me but when i add a word like say "USB" and it doesn't do anything except basically adds the word to the Ignore list not the Dictionary?? Anyone know how to fix this? or is this an odd quirk from the application as no matter how many machines i have run Firefox on in different OS's from windows variations to Linux variations the only OS i have no experience with is Mac OS (any Mac OS Version). I have been wondering about this for a while now. Maybe i should ask in the Mozilla forums if no one knows here.

OK well i talk a lot and say little so i will stop now and I thank all you cats who already posted and i thanks in advance to any others who may post answers to the questions i have ion this post.

Keep on Keep'in on Brotha's and Sista's' of the windows seven Forums.

Edit: I forgot to ask about something else. Anyone know of a good Download Manager that works with firebox? I have been a fan of Flash Get but it has become bloated and i dont like it anymore. I have a Usenet client and a Torrent client so i dont like how flash get messes that up for me by trying to download them ( can disable them if i have to but i think something out their might be better). So any ideas I would like to know first what is the BEST and what is the best FREE download manager. All i want it to do is manage my downloads better than Firefox does, it can even be a Firefox add-on if that ends up being the best solution. Thanks again.

EDIT: I have like you said have had some not so good quality playback on WMC so i try to use that as my main Media Player and I use VLC to fall back on if i dont like the way it looks on MEC. The only reason i haven't switched totally to VLC is the fact that MEC is 64 bit and it is noticeable. Thanks for the opinions. Thanks to all your help all i have to do now is find someone who has a windows 7 disk so i can do a clean install. Will a OEM windows 7 disk work with the methods already described in this forum? also as a status update i have installed "SuperAntiSpyware" and will be installing winpatrol today.
Again Thanks and TIA for any future edits LOL

Make your Recovery Disks from the Recovery partition following the instructions in your manual, which you can download to read from the HP Support Downloads webpage for your model. Now you have a path back to factory condition and can wipe the HD when ready to clean reinstall Win7.

Once you have your Recovery Disks, you can extract favorite apps using this: https://www.sevenforums.com/installat...tml#post488270

Be on the lookout for a friend with Win7 who you can borrow it from for a clean reinstall using the Product Key from COA sticker on machine. You can unlock all versions using this tool: Ei.cfg Removal Utility Lets You Use Any Product Key With Your Windows 7 Disc

I posted my My exact Model HP Pavilion Laptop in my System specs (HP DV7 3165dx) as you asked, I still am wondering what kind of TV tuner I should be looking for as i plan on getting one soon but this will be my First PC TV tuner i would like some kind of direction before i just jump in and buy the cheapest one i can find. Preferably I want one that is either connected VIA my Express card or USB but with a cord I do not want a large Dongle that can easily be broken (although i can always use a USB extension cord if the tuner is the best for me) Also not a requirement but i would enjoy to also have A radio Tuner built in.

First, congratulations! I believe you have got a very good laptop there.

About TV-tuner, I'm currently using two tuners, built-in from AverMEdia (analog only) and a Cinergy HTC USB XS HD external USB stick. The Cinergy stick is capable to receive both analog and digital signal, terrestrial and cable. It has normal input for coaxial, plus for external digital receiver. I am extremely satisfied with this tuner, which I use only with WMC; the included Terratec HomeCinema software is about as crap as possible.

It is very difficult for me to recommend a good TV-tuner for you, due to our different digital systems. Here in Europe we are using DVB which Cinergy supports very well, you there on the other side of the big water are as far as I know using ATSC. For instance, I do not know if Cinergy has an ATSC model of the stick I have. A friend I know back there bought a KWorld's external USB box some time ago and seems to be completely happy with it (KWorld! Watch TV on Your PC NO.1!!).

AHHH i forgot you live in Europe! LOL yes our telivision system is NTSC analog and ATSC Digital (i dont knoiw muchg about ATSC yet as The cable comming into my house i believe is still NTSC and it is converted via a cable tv top box. Man I have a bit to learn as my PC can play 720p HD and would like to take advantage of it although if i must get a converter box IDK if i will as it adds like $10 USD a month to my monthly bill Forgive my ignorance but i dont know your currency conversion but thats 8 Euros a month just for a box for my pc, ERG.

I think its odd that the world cant get together on such things.(it doesn't surprise me though as the world cant get together on anything really i mean shoot they make different cars for different country's not just for emission standards, although i think the strictest standards in the world should be the standard but money is king.) It would be especially nice if the whole world used the same power plugs too even though we have different power systems. They make adapters, their should be a universal plug for north America Europe and Asia the plug would be like an adapter and it would convert whatever power type it receives
(or it could have a switch) and then give the unit what it requires to work. Too bad we all have different types of power grids in the first place.

Alright, back to the point. Yeah NTSC (analog) and ATSC (digital) I believe you use PAL (analog) and DVB (Digital)? Maybe i shal make a post specifically on this subject so i can get input from other NTSC users Like me. thanks so much for the info you did give me though!

    No problem, Beatnik

By the way, we Europeans have always wondered how (excuse me now) you Americans can be satisfied with NTSC. According to an old joke, the acronym comes from Never The Same Color.
