    But I can't even find my recycle bin.

    Skostro,

    Double check with the Desktop icon settings using the tutorial below to see if you can select the Recycle Bin to add it back to Desktop.

    Desktop Icons - Add or Remove

    In addition, you can also pin the Recycle Bin to the taskbar instead if you like.
