    No Search Option Windows 7

    Hello,

I came here before, when i ordered my SSD, and I was looking for some tweaking for it. I followed a few suggestion. Some of which were relevant to "DISABLING SEARCH Services" along with Unchecking "INDEXING CONTENTS" in a Drives Properties.

I disabled Windows Search via Services.msc
& Unchecked the Indexing Checkbox by going to the Properties of the SSD Drive.

A few days back, I noticed. I have NO SEARCH BOX in my windows interface. I press F3, No response. I don't have the search box in the START MENU either.

Anyways, I followed back to Services.msc, In hope to ENABLE the Windows Search Service again - BUT, The windows search services is not even there! Its GONE!

I surfed over google to find answers but, I don't know if I have done something else to make that Search box go away, besides that service, which has completely vanished.

I hope I find answer to this problem here. I'll be grateful for you help.

    Thanks

I don't know how to fix what you did but this program called "everything" may well fill the void for you. It instantly will locate any file on your computer! You can find it here for free......Everything Search Engine

    Good luck!

P.S. Give it a try you will be amazed!

WOAH! That is amazing. Something I always wished for haha. I think this is a good way to keep my services minimum for a stable explorer, and whenever i feel the need of a search engine, I can just run this from a portable drive haha. Great Share.

P.S. Please let me know if you have other interesting stuff like this to share.
