7 Ultimate translation from Spanish to English help.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and Office 2007 Ultimate. I downloaded the Spanish Language update and typed in "change display language" and it switched to Spanish.

Problem is I only speak English. I have tried several translation tools trying to get the Spanish translation for "change display language" to switch back to English.

I just cannot find a translation in Spanish for "change display language" that will switch it back to English.

Can anybody translate "change display language" in Spanish so I can get back to English. I have tried for hours with no luck.

Hello Hookem, welcome to Seven Forums!

I'm sorry I'm no help with this but it sounds like something I'd do; hopefully someone will be along shortly to help you out.

Hello Hookem, welcome to the Seven Forums.

    Display Language - Change

I have never heard the language of Windows (or Office) could be changed by typing Change the display language. Anyway, if that sentence in Spanish is what you need, here it is: Cambiar el idioma para mostrar.

If you accidentally changed the Windows display language to Spanish, here's how to change it back to English:
    • Open the Start menu, click Panel de Control:

      .
    • Click Cambiar el idioma para mostrar under the title Reloj, idioma y región:

      .
    • Choose Teclados e idiomas tab, choose English from drop down menu, click Aceptar:

      .
    • To apply language change, log out from your account by clicking Cerrar sesión ahora:

      .
    • When you log back in, the language is changed to English

    Hope this helps.

Bare Foot Kid and Kari...Thank for welcoming me to the forum...LOL "sounds like something I'd do".

I followed the instructions from Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise and thought I would just translate and type that in the search box. The crazy thing is I tried the " Cambiar el idioma para mostrar." in the search box and it did not find it right off the bat.

Kari, I especially appreciate you taking the time to post screen shots with step by step instructions.

Thanks again for the welcome and help. Guess I will pull another Hookem/Bare Foot Kid and try to get Office in Spanish.

    You are welcome.

Here's something to read about Office 2007 language packs: Microsoft Office Language Packs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

LOL...Now come on. I was born at night. But not last night. What is going to happen ???

Thanks again for linking me Kari. I have never wiki'ed computer stuff so thanks for the heads up. You have heard the term "Your powers are weak old man" Well my search skills are all that and a bunch more.

I was under the impression that Office 2007 Ultimate was like Win 7 Ultimate. You just have to download and install the language pack. I could not find them but did find where on June 16 2010 that you can buy the Spanish Language Pack for 24.95 which I will purchase. Unless of course I do not have to with Office 2007 Ultimate.

I tried to find out what the deal was because from what I understand only Enterprise and Ultimate Versions of Win 7 can use the Language packs. It may be that you can buy the Language Packs for lesser Versions of Win 7. I do not know at this point.

Hopefully you can purchase the Language Packs for lesser versions of Microsoft Office. Google has been my friend. Looks like Wiki could be another.

Can you buy Microsoft Language Packs for XP, Vista, Win 7, Office 2003, Office 2007 and Office 2010 ???

    Thanks again guys. !!!!!

I've never used Office Language Packs, always only the English Office with multilingual Office Proofing Tools, which gives spelling, thesaurus and grammar for additional languages (I need Finnish, Swedish, German and English if not daily, at least weekly).

The terminology used is a bit misleading. MUI (Multilingual User Interface), LIP (Language Interface Pack), LP (or CLP, Complete Language Pack), all are systems used to allow another dialog and interface language than installed original. Here's a very good page to read if you are really interested: Language Packs in Windows 7. It's not just about LP's in Windows 7, it also helps you to understand the difference between various multilingual technologies.

MUI technology was presented in Windows 2000, but it was quite simple until Vista. Today, XP does not have complete language packs, they are only offered as free, optional updates to Vista and Seven, Ultimate and Enterprise editions.

As far as I know, you can have MUI interface packs in all Office versions since Office XP.
