    All Programs Empty

    Hey all,
I just downloaded Windows 7 and transfered over my program files from windows.old to the program files in windows 7. The problem i'm having is that start->all programs is empty, it isn't populating from the program files folder. Is there a way to tell the computer to search for programs and repopulate the all programs? thanks.

    Hello Mustangman,

    Welcome to Seven Forums.

You have to install all of the programs so that the proper registry entries are entered. They will then show on the start menu.

    Hope this helps.

I have the same problem of an empty All Programs menu. Surely there is a better solution than reinstalling all the programs which are now working perfectly.

Thats what I expected. some programs have new version for windows 7 but any program you access out of windows.old you have to make a shortcut and it wont go into the all programs.
