Did you check the downloads section to make sure - can you post a screenie of the downloads section you get with Technet Standard?

You only get 6 Elearning courses instead of 12
No I can only get the my normal download center but it states that it does not include SOME Enterprise or Dynamics software.
I would assume by that it is nearly the same

To me, I don't see mention of it having the server based products. It says that the standard is more for supporting the desktop....and it says that it includes "most", but not all of the commercial software.

It looks like Standard appears on the majority of items of interest - so standard may be the way to go after all.

Old question I know, but can you let your sub 'expire' and then re-sub the same account (down graded to standard though) after x-months have passed retaining all your current keys etc?

my Pro direct expires in a few days. It says I can renew for $149 instead of the $199, but when I click it. It says $199. since I'm not renewing the new standard.. but thats cuz it's the first year.

I guess I could call instead.

So with Standard you cannot download the OS (Windows 7, Windows Server, etc) nor the application software such as Office 2010. Makes zero sense to pay for that.

am i right in thinking that if i pay £134, i can download copies of all the software in the list and legally use it for as long as i like? i'll also have access to e-learning?

this doesn't sound right (although i'm hoping it is!) - there's got to be a catch??

can anyone join up - or do i need to be some sort of qualified professional?

or have i misunderstood completely :confused:?

Well, its a very grey area that could probably be debated for hours.

The software is supposed to be used for "testing". Will Microsoft ever know what you are using the OS for? Probably not.

You are supposed to be certified IT, again... Microsoft will never really know what you are.

I do have a feeling Microsoft will regulate this in the future.
