I have my screensaver set for ten minutes and have my monitor set to go blank at 20. That is what yours is doing. If you want to change the time before it goes blank check in your Control Panel under Power Options. You should not leave your screen on all the time, there is no reason. Let it go blank after about 20 minutes.

On old CRT Monitors if the same image was left on constantly, it would burn the image into the screen. With monitors today that is not and issue. Having the screen saver running eliminates the same image all the time. Themes can do the same thing.

My only experience of the media center screensaver is when i have fallen asleep whilst watching a movie and when waking later my images i have stored on the pc are floating around my screen in black and white , Ithink the mc screensaver only works when mc is open but obviously the media is not playing .
