    Systray Time Format Keeps Changing

Hey Folks! I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-Bit up-to-date with all updates as of today, 21 June 2010.

The issue is that my Time format keeps changing on its own - the time displayed in the systray. I have both the Short and Long time set to be in the HH:mm format.

The systray displays the Long time and for some reason it quite often changes the format I chose.

I can't find any specific pattern to when or why it changes, but I notice it because the time will suddenly display with 12 Hour Time and AM/PM format - which I don't want. So, I go to the option to again change the time format and the Long Time option is now clear/empty. So, I again change it (now that the entry is blank I re-enter it) to HH:mm and all is well until it again reverts.

    Any suggestions?

    Welcome

It is my guess that this is caused by anothe rprogram that you have installed. Do you have any automatic maintenance programs; possibly with you antivirus.

I have some system configuration programs such as Windows 7 Manager (Yamicsoft) and WinUtilities, but I NEVER make changes to the clock/time/date setups with these programs. I use NAV 2010 and see nothing that could allow Norton to make changes. I have absolutely no automatic maintenance programs or tasks.

I THINK I found it --- Windows 7 Manager does have an option to alter the clock/time format - to append day of the week to the display or add a word in front of the time, etc. It also includes the choice to change the time format. Even if you do not use this option or anything, it appears that it will always change the time to that setting any time you use the program, regardless of the fact that you never touched this tool/option in the program. In addition, it gives you a drop down list to select the time format - you are NOT able to enter your own time format. I want HH:mm ... it has 6 time format choices - the closest to what I want is HH:mm:ss -- so I selected it and the time appears fine now, we'll see if it "randomly changes" again, but I don't think it will .... note that the clock is not displaying the seconds of the HH:mm:ss. So, all is well at the moment then.

I consider this a significant bug in the Yamicsoft program.
