    Help! Slow Net book!

I am just wondering if there is anything out there that can help me speed up a net book, it belongs to my daughter and it is driving her nutz. The netbook is a Samsung with one of those Atom processors and a gig of ram, nothing special really, I CAN add another gig of ram but that is the extent of it. Is there any software out there designed to help speed it up or is there any place I can go to like get a list of things I can do or shut off on the unit in order to help it out?

Better add one stick more and:
    Optimize Windows 7

I did serviced one of my sister's Netbook aswell earlier this month, did the clean up of old temp files and very old restore points. Kept up to date all the drivers and MS Apps.
Defragmented the hard drive. Fine tuned the interface & power settings for lowing the Cpu demand.

Open up the System Properties Window and under the advanced tab click the settings button in the performance section. In there you can select "adjust for best performance". It's going to turn off all the fancy graphics stuff and make windows look pretty plain jane though. If its running windows starter some of it is already disabled anyway. If you select custom you can pick and chose what you want. Other things you can do is look at what bloat ware is installed and un-install programs you know you will never use. Also have a look at what antivirus program or suite is installed. Some of them are pretty resource hungry. It its only a trial you may want to switch to something else like Microsoft's "free" Security Essentials". If you look in the tutorials section of this forum you should find some ideas for getting a little more pep out of your netbook. The big thing to realize is "it is what it is", its a netbook and they aren't known for being fast. My daughter has one and I haven't heard her complain as of yet. Her desktop being an Athlon 1100 with 500 megs of RAM might have something to do with that though.
