".exe" files

I just got a new iMac with 64 bit Mac OS, Parallels & 64 bit Windows 7 so I can run certain Windows programs. I've downloaded WinrAR, 7Zip, jZip & HJSplit - both with Mac Safari & Windows Firefox, but can't figure out to work the ".exe" files.
Win7 doesn't work like my old Win XP where all I had to do was click on the ".exe" files and they automatically started the program.

How do i get these programs to work?

As Tepid says, they do...or should. exe files are self extracting. If you are talking about those programs setup exe's, then a double click, right click run should start the installation dialog. As Tepid asked, what exactly IS happening? A Guy

Hello Tnderigo, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might try downloading and merging the exe option in the tutorial below to see if it may be able to help you. It will restore all default associations and settings for .exe files.

Default File Type Associations - Restore

Hope this helps,
Shawn
