    hey MR GRIM

he is actually trying a fresh install grim

you are right but he has low end hardware....
he wants a quicker os (at least that what i see)...
the thing is i want to see if this is a bad/faulty hardware issue
element try and see if the 6801 installs if nothing else works
i want to avoid him having to download a 2 gb iso for nothing...lol

That's a fair point about the 2gig download but on the other hand that build might do the job for him and since the release of bluebadge rev.3 there is not much different from the 6956 build aside from a few icons and a animated boot screen.

    thats true...
and the boot screen in 6801 is animated....lol
    its just you know minimalistic....
but yeah it a good rule of thumb...
that your first Windows 7 install should be 6801 which i think by far the stablest with the amount of hardware that has been tested...

Another thing to remember is that 6801 and 6956 were modified to make the ISO so you might find there are issues with using the upgrade option for that build.

    i thought it was 6936???....
i think you are referring to that one...
    since i know 6801 was a full rip...lol
but there will be incompatibility with the late versions because they were ripped out of a already installed system....
    and rather violently i heard...lol

    i see what you mean...
they use the 6801's installation's enviroment to create a 6956 install
i heard about that that another chinese hacker used that knowledge to do it....
    but delete the link...
i dont think the mods or admins like the t-word on the website or as a link...lol
there should be a rule that says you cannot say the t-word....lol
    just kidding...lol

    Wow....weird stuff is happening....

I shut down my computer last night and rebooted it this morning and it started going into the setup for installation again, then gave me the BSOD again, so when i restarted my machine it gave me the option for "Windows Setup" and "Windows Vista" to boot from, so i selected Vista and here I am now....why is it still going into the setup when i reboot my system?

I caught the STOP this time on the BSOD...

    STOP: 0x00000078 (0x80598B58, 0x00000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

    What is going on?

It still has the boot info from the attempted install, and thus is still trying to restart the installation.

FWIW, even with 6801, I had a failed reboot after copying files - and I just let it hang, waited like an hour, then manually restarted and allowed it to start up again.

    After that it worked fine.

6956, though, was a no go from get go.
