    Taskbar question

Is it possible to stop the programs I'm using and the programs that are behind it from doing these highlights on the program icons?
I see orange color a lot and just don't like it. Really just want one color regardless of what program is active or not.
I don't need any help in telling me what program window is on top all I have to do is look at the monitor and there it is.
    Can I stop this?

    Thanks

Hello Aperture, I don't believe it is possible to prevent taskbar icons from displaying that they are active. They use a color from the programs icon (blue for IE, orange from Firefox, etc.), as when you mouse over them. You can change the taskbar color and transparency, but the icons behavior is a "feature" of windows and cannot be changed, at least natively by windows.

I think he's talking about the flashing of icon that let you know a page has loaded?

    Dang!!!!!!!!!
    Oh, well.
Thanks for your reply, greatly appreciate it.
Hope Microsoft gets rid of stuff like this in W8.
These endless flashy things can be so annoying.
