How can I bypass or remove the start screen in W7 (start screen with the E-mail Web and Music/Videos) and go straight to Windows?

Welcome to Seven Forums R Fernandez. That is the HP Instant On Software (IOS) Environment. Here is how to disable it:

Turn on the power and allow the computer to boot into Windows 7

Click Start , All Programs , and then click IOS .

Right-click the IOS Configuration Tool .

Select Run as administrator .

Start Up Screen in HP dv6-c01997977.jpg

Deselect the Enable IOS check box.

When you have completed your selections, click OK to accept the choices and close the window. Restart the computer to apply the new Instant On setting.
