Given that it's a company-provided computer, your best bet is to take it to the IT folks at the company and see what they will do.

My guess is that they are likely to "reimage" it, thus wiping out all your files and data.
Yep, this is a company laptop, and that's what your IT department is there for. If they know what they are doing, they'll likely try a repair install first, and given the fact they are IT, they'll know what OS you have and what disc to use.

On a side note, if you want to play games, do it on your own personal computer. I'm an IT Manager, and nothing gets me frustrated more than someone who wrecks their laptop because they installed a game, or some other non-business, non-approved app. I've even heard of some companies resorting to disciplinary actions for people who do this.

    well..

i've tried safe mode and it does login, but after ages and its very slow to take any command. I've files on the machine which I made the mistake of not backing up on the shared user drive hence I need to get it working. Have tried windows startup repair as well but it takes me back to the same screen. I'll keep trying for a solution.

    thanks for the help guys..

Be very careful that you don't get yourself in more trouble than you are already. I really think you are taking the dangerous route. I still think to come clean would be your best bet but the choice is yours. I wish you luck anyway, I think you are going to need it
