Another way to control font size is to click on the lower right of the screen, just above the clock on the percentage that you see. Maybe that will suit your needs better.

hi sorry for the delay.... i have my stepson with me
for the day..if i am not here alot today... you know why

well i do that too with the fonts.

i spoke with tech today.... he said to write down
all my issues and when he comes back from vacation
he will call me and extended the 14 day return policy
    as he is going away

what you told me about the dpi (sp) was right and i would have the same on the other more expensive computer cause i need bigger fonts...

if i change to the other computer too there will
be a charge for loading the new computer again as well.. but he will come show it to me when he gets back.

now i have norton antivirus which i like on all computers here in the house
and they called me today i told them about the pop up on face book and she said they could at norton
take out my internet or uninstall and re install
and maybe get rid of it.. i told her to call me monday as i need to find out more info.

as someone told me that with w7 ie8 they have same problems

so that is my story for right now..

happy 4th of july weekend Rich!!!!!!

OK this is good news. The store is willing to do what I suggested and now you have time to do it properly.

Start from the beginning, use the computer, when you get to the first problem, tell me. Just one at a time, so we can resolve that before we move on. If you are not satisfied with the way the computer works, after my advice ask as the store.

Go to the store with all your questions, and we can discuss them. From what I see you are going to be very happy with your computer.

You have a great weekend and post whenever a question comes up. Remember, you have me and the entire membership of SevenForums to help.

I am getting excited thinking about how happy you are going to be after we resolve these minor difficulties.

    Coco -

Pardon me for chipping in, but there is a much lighter and less cumbersome free anti-virus which is recommended by almost all of us here, Microsoft Security Essentials.

It takes about 30 seconds to install, then updates and runs a quick scan. After that, it becomes nearly invisible unless you have a threat.

Norton is such a major bloatware infection that it takes a special Norton Removal Tool to get it all out. What I do is install the free Revo Uninstaller, remove Norton in Advanced mode to get out all of the hidden Registry keys and files it leaves behind, then run the Norton Removal Tool.

You should see significant performance improvement after uninstalling the Norton bloatware.

Also I suggest you type msconfig in Start Search box, rightclick result to Run As Administrator, then on the Startup Tab uncheck any freeloaders that are starting up with your computer unnecessarily. I only allow my Antivirus (MSE) and gadgets to remain in the list. This will lighten the load considerably, too.

As far as DPI, most of the Owners I install for like it when I set it at 120%. The fonts start becoming noticeably larger at 125%. If you set it at 120% to start, then set the Internet Explorer Page>Zoom to 125% and Text Size to Larger, you will be able to sit back in your seat a bit more.

Keep the Hard Drive perfectly clean and ordered by using the superior free CCleaner then Auslogics Disk defragger monthly.

    Hope this helps.
