That's because with judicious buying over a short period of time we can get a better machine for less money! Many items can be robbed from older machines with no loss of eventual performance.

That's not cheating :) I didn't build mine myself, as it would have only been $50 cheaper to have a pile of parts and an OS disk, then my fully assembled, professionally wired and tested, 3 yr. warranty PC.
