On the upperright you see a pyramid, click on it and type solved. It will be closed by a moderator.

You certainly did not. This forum is all about learning and teaching. You learn this time and you teach the next. Your contributions will always be important.

Actually Kirsch you were perfectly correct. When you hit the red triangle and report "Solved " or similar only Admins can take the appropriate action. So both you and Richard were correct!!!!

Any mod/supermod/admin can close/mark as solved, etc. Not just the admins, not just the mods.

And that includes such deities as me!

Remember that the Report Post function is not just to report objectionable threads/posts. It is, of course, there for that purpose, but it is also there so that members can report other things as well, such as the renaming of a thread, and for requesting that it be marked as Solved. We don't usually close threads, unless they are really getting out of hand. Sometimes though, we do close threads if they are getting too long - where this happens we create a continuation thread and include links to the new from the old and vice-versa.
