Try this out: Change which programs Windows uses by default
That didnt fix it. The settings in there seem ok.
Welcome to Seven Forums neogeo11. Did this just start? if so you can revert to a system restore point from before this began. What happens if you right click the .jpg and chose open with, and choose your usual image viewing program?
A Guy
Thanks :) Yeah it just started. I dont have any system restore points. If I do that it still says class not registered.
I obviously need to register the filetype but I dont know how to do that.
See if this helps... Default Programs - Associate a File Type or Protocol This will show you how to associate a file extension type or protocol to open with a program you select by default in Windows 7.
I have just installed a program to manage the images and create slideshows. I had to pay for it but its just something I need to do.
I used to play about with computers a lot but it only led to disaster. Now I just leave things alone and do the basics and windows still cant seem to keep up. I got a bsod today as well so something sure isnt right. Maybe im just unlucky... either way its ok now anyway.
Thanks for your help everyone.
I had to reformat and reinstall windows today anyway. I switched on my pc and got an error telling me to update the bios, which I did. Then after that I got another error about USB. Then finally I got the pc to boot from cd and even then had a few problems getting windows to begin installing. After about 20 reboots im up and running again with no problems :)
Still I cant imagine what microsoft be doing in the decade between OS'es. For me nothing has change except the look of windows
