Hello Michel, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Please fill in and update your system specs (click on link). What type of hardware (ex: CPU supports 64-bit) will play a big part in whether your system will run 64-bit Windows 7 or not. Most do these days, but we must be sure.

For now, you will have to do a clean reinstall to go from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows 7.

Hope this helps for now,
Shawn

You're welcome.

If you fill in your system specs to let us know what CPU you have, we'll be happy to let you know if it will support 64-bit or not.

It should support 64-bit if you have a recent CPU

16-bits program error message in 64-bits W7...
This is a rather unsual error message from Windows 7, that cannot even run 16-bits programs, quote: "Too many other files are currently in use by 16-bit programs. Exit one or more 16-bit programs, or increase the value of files in your Config.sys file." The only time that this issue shows...

bits and bytes
Okay when I learned this I felt somehow sad. but when ISPs offer you eg 50mbps, they don't really mean that you'll download with 50 MBytes/sec because mbps = mega bits per second 8 bits = 1 byte in this case 1 mega byte = 8 mega bits So if we do 50 mega bits 8 it gives us 6.25mega bytes...

Why 64 bits?
