switch user resets some icons in notifcation area

I have a couple of programs who's icons I have set to always show, one of them is mailwasher for example. Everything is fine until my wife logs onto her account when I log back onto mine mailwasher becomes hidden again by. So it means I have to unhide it every time she logs on. It's not all icons that do this

I have done this 100 times. Like I said, I set it to "Always show" and it shows, my wife logs on and the next time I log on the icon is hidden again.

login to the administrator. Elevated Command Prompt that's will show you to the administrator rights. then change the setting notification, what you want to always show.
restart your computer. and try login.
if that's can't, so you must try to set it up 1 by 1 profile that's you want too.

Is it possible that the programs that do change have been installed "for user only" instead of "all users"? (Possibly the other way round).
What I mean is differently from the ones that don't change their settings.
I used to get this happening in XP, a shared MC and that's what I pinned it down to.
This isn't a shared PC so cannot verify which way round, or even if, this setting is the issue here.

you might be on the right track there although with mailwasher there was no "all user" option. I have logged on as my wife and told mailwasher to run at startup and see if that makes a difference.
