Task Scheduler problem - wonīt login automatically

    Hello,
i have a little problem with the Task scheduler on Windows 7.

I would like to use it to start a program, while my PC is at hibernation through the nighttime, so it can run while i am not at the PC.

The problem is, that when i plan the Task in the Scheduler, my PC will start at the time i choose and wake up from the hibernation, but it all get stuck at the User logon screen.

I tried filling up both possibilities in the Security tab (Run only when user is logged on and Run whetever user is logged on or not), then it askes for my passwort and i fill it in. But it gets still stuck at the User logon screen after waking up the PC and wants the password to type in.

Please, can someone help me? I have only one account set up as the administrator with password, nothing else. Why wonīt it just work

You can try going to the screen saver settings and make sure that On Resume Display Logon Screen is unchecked. That might be doing it.

That did not helped at all.

Anyways, i already solved my problem, it was in power management and the tickbox Request password after start-up from hibernation.

Notw i got another problem: after i plan a program start up in Scheduler, it wakes up the PC, logs in, but wonīt launch the program. I tried setting up RapgetRS, Image Viewer, Irfan View, tons of others and it wonīt launch even one of them.

Why not get rid of your password?

Well, only one user on the PC, only an admin account and without a password? Security reasons? :)

Check that you are using the correct commands and parameters in the task scheduler. Try scheduling one of those programs when your PC is running, you can set it for say 5 minutes after you create the task.

Bill wow, thatīs some constructive thinking. Guess what - it worked.

So the only problem that is still present is, how to start the computer from hibernation when the password is on. Task scheduler can not login instead of me, which is sad

lol....that was only to check that the entries in the task scheduler are corect.

Personally, I dont think you can do this easily. The built in task scheduler is very basic unless you are a script wiz. Suggest you google for a 3rd party utility. And the login requirement will always complicate the issue.

Well the entries were correct. It just appears, that you canīt start any programs via scheduler, when the computer is waking up. Trust me, i even tried Repeat after and all the other commands to try starting the program after the wake up. Only a new schedule, which is separate from the first one is working.

Anyway, i have a bad feeling about that autologon with Task Scheduler and i donīt think, that it is even possible. In Windows 8 i want a better Task Scheduler, so i can schedule much more funnier jokes with it to scare people, when their PC is starting the same day at midnight and keeps playing creepy sounds
