Hello myzr7,
Welcome to my misery . Thank you for that route to fix my issue, but as before it did not display on the desktop. Neat idea,
Update, I tried it again but this time the Destop list (>>) showed a shortcut to recycle bin which was not there before I tried your method the first time. I cut and pasted it to the desktop and got the Move File Message that "The source and the destination file names are the same" Recycle Bin - Shortcut Location: Recycle bin. I cancelled out as I'm very anxious.

Dear The Howling Wolves,
May I say in all sincerity and candor "ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!" You are quite possibly correct, I don't have the strength or fortitude to do it tonight Maybe I'll see the intelligence of the concept better in the morning light. I don't want to loose any of my personal files. And the concept of windows.old is beyond my present comprehension. I'll let you know.
Sincerely thank you all!

Kind Sir,
Thank you for an alternative. I have been messing with this install for three weeks. Running down each problem. I've installed every operating system including CPM.
This is very trying, I've been out of up to date too long.
Will try tomorrow and advise.
Mille Gracie (Italian for a lot of thanks)

richc46,
I deeply appreciate the confirmation of assistance. It is greatly appreciated. You guys taking the time to help is a generous act. I gonna eat my Wheaties tomorrow morning
In reference to your SFC /scannow I'll try that in the morning also. In reference to a system restore, I have had so many problems that the previous restores are probably corrupted by a previous issue. Time will tell.

Can't see the contents in Desktop Recycle Bin
Hi all. New here. Hope someone can help. There appears to be something wrong with my recycle bin. When I delete something, I'm asked, as usual, if I wish to move it to the recycle bin. The icon, on the desktop changes to "full". But if I open the recycle bin, there is NO content at all showing...

Invisible Recycle Bin on Desktop
I searched but didn't see anyone else asking this question, so here I go. I like a clean desktop, but like being able to drag and drop desktop files in the trash when I'm done with them. In Vista I made my Recycle Bin icon invisible by using a shortcut to the Recycle Bin and then using a...
