    *SIGH*........

You should never , ever surf online without some sort of antivirus protection , even if it is free .

Listen to the posts above , if that doesn't get it go here : Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP Tweaks, Tips and Secrets! Richie and his crew will be able to help you get it .

FREE Bootable AntiVirus Rescue CDs Download List

I recommend also running one of the bootable AV's above so that viruses have no place to hide as they do when System Files are running.

This is the only way to know for sure some infection hasn't survived, other than wiping the HD to clean reinstall.

If you don't want to burn one to CD, install Avast 5, update it and then on Tools tab schedule a Boot time scan and restart computer.

Avast 5 is also a good real time AV, comparable to MSE in the latest version.

    Hello Greg.

Do you know if Avast has added the boot scan option for 64-bit yet?

    Hi Barefoot -

No I don't. But he has plenty of other options there if he wants to make sure he's clean.

Thanks, I was asking for my own knowledge; I guess I should stay out of another's thread eh?
