windows 7 show me a larger hard disk capacity

    Hi all,

    I am new here :)
I have a strange problem and I wanted to share it with you guys hopefuly
you guide me through an easy fix ...

First of all, I have an Apple MacBook Pro
and I've installed Windows 7 using boot camp.
I assigned for windows 7 about 80 GB.

I installed all the software I needed then I've thought that 80 GB is too much
for windows and I will need more space on MAC ..
so I created a system image for C: which all my windows stuff there.

then I installed windows 7 in 40 GB hard disk then I restored all my sutff
    from the system image.

I got all my file, applications and setting.

MacBook Pro Hard Disk Capacity is 250 GB,
its suppose to show about 230 something GB :)

but I will show you the some screen shots.

this pic shows that I have C: and E:
the C: is showing the wrong hard disk total cpacity
and wrong free and used space.
    the E: is good

this shot shows you the used space in C:

I thought that disk management would help but
it shows me a different numbers,

I installed a third party application to show me the real space and this what
    it shows

    Uploaded with ImageShack.us

    which is correct :)

how I can fix this problem ?

I am using New Apple MacBook Pro. 2.4 GH
4 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Disk. I expreince this while having Windows 7 86x isntalled and updated yesterday :)

    waiting for your help guys

I'm a little confused, what was the size of the bootcamp partition when you installed 7? The 0.5Gb extra may be normal for bootcamp, I find someone more knowledgable.

the size of bootcamp that i installed windows 7 in is 40 GB ..
it shows me 80.5 GB, its extra 40.5 GB almost 100% larger.
80.5 was the old windows 7 that I create system image to restore from ..

Uh well you can't really restore a system image to a smaller drive :/

I'm really surprised that the imaging program even let you actually.

What might have worked is shrinking the Windows partition to 40 gig before you had imaged it, then restored to the 40 gig drive.

I suppose you can try to do that now, though... I couldn't guess what might happen :)

well now its 40 and it shows its 80
so the fix is, i was suppose to shrink it before
but now I can not fix it.
I will try to extend the windows 7 hard disk to make it 80 gigs again ..

I will post you the updates.

    thanks for the help
