    View: Align Icons to Grid

I'm running Win 7 Pro 64 bit. I always uncheck 'Align icons to grid' under View (on Desktop). Yet every time I reboot it's checked again. Can someone tell me how to keep it from being checked (activated) when I reboot? Thank you.

See it this works, right click on desktop, view, make sure align to grid and auto arrange is not checked. Nothing in, sort by, is checked.

Thanks richc46. The only item I always check in View is "Show Desktop Icons".

OK Ill be a sport and try again

Try this first, next time you boot the computer hold down the shift key. The icons shouldnot move after that.

In an attempt to be sure we find a solution, if the above does not work try this. You should make a system restore point first, since this method was not tried by anyone that I know.
