Just wanted to thank everyone who offered suggestions - in the end I decided to restore my clean system image/backup, and that has fixed the problem. Now it's a matter of monitoring things I install to see what might have caused this bizarre thing to happen! So far, no clue. Anyway, thanks again!

I changed my default system font in XP (to Segoe or Tahoma or Verdana ) and had exactly the same issue. The only way I could get round it was by modifying the colour pickers dialog window and making the '0-255' entry box wider! Seeing as how I was batch changing multiple system files anyway this was just another one to add to the list.
The system file (in WinXP) in question was comdlg32.dll
    The dialog number was 1552
The script line I changed was from
    CONTROL "", 1184, "ToolbarWindow32", 0x50012B4C, 4, 22, 58, 208 , 0x00000200
    to
    CONTROL "", 1184, "ToolbarWindow32", 0x50012B4C, 4, 22, 58, 240 , 0x00000200.
260 being the max size I could stretch the window to (normally 240).
The same sort of thing can be found in the first two dialog entries in Win 7's comdlg32.dll.mui in the C:\Windows\System32\en-US folder.
But, as you say, would it be worth it??
I posted to mainly to let you know, you're not alone/going mad!!

YAY! A fellow nutter. Hmm - I changed my Vista font to Segoe and sometimes couldn't see the entire number/words in certain (probably badly programmed, I think) apps such as Photoshop plugins, but this problem I detailed here was different in that I couldn't actually type that @$#!@^ing 3rd digit. Anyway, thanks for the heads up - I have made a note, for future reference!

Am I right in thinking Windows 7 uses Segoe by default, or did I do that?? :) I haven't had much time to tamper with 7 (2 weeks or so since I isntalled it) or even to get to know its foibles yet - but it's quite likely I DID, as we old women are compulsive fiddlers.

I never did figure it out. Changing fonts/sizes back made no difference once it had "set in". I could always only see 2 and a bit numbers and unable to do anything with the "bit".
It was like someone had locked a "space" into the first place in every entry box.

Yeah - and just when you think you hav everything figured out, your platform does something completely random on a day like any other day. I suppose that's why we love them! :)

    Any answers?

    Hello,
I just started seeing this issue and have not found any definitive answer to correct it.
Here is a screencast I put together.

Webform Builder color dialog issue - soundcreations's library

I tried hacking the comdlg32.dll in Windows 7 but could not find the dialog entry.

Any help would be so appreciated.
    Best,
    Simeon
