Odd Performance Problems recently

Hi,

i wonder if someone can give me a hint why my WIN7 (32Bit) on my Netbook feels so weird the last week. We went on vacation a week ago, so I made sure my Netbook was running fine with WIN7 and made sure I had all the stuff installed I needed on vacation when I got Internet.

Now a couple of days ago my WIN7 starts to act up, has high CPU load in Deferred Procedure Calls, with issues that weren't there before I went on vacation. Its lagging all the time, cursor stucks etc. and also in Video & Sound apps. like videoplayer etc. but all these things worked without issues before I was on vacation. Why act up now ?

I think there was one WIN Update I made when I was here, dont remember what it was but probably just the usual security update or whatever, nothing out of the ordinary. Was there an issue with a recent update or what can it be ?

I wouldnt be as surprised about all this if the issue would have been already when I was home, but it wasn't. I already checked with my AV (Avast), there is no virus etc. that I can find.

I appreciate any tip that helps me find out what that issue is or could be. Maybe someone recently experienced something like that himself. One thing I do know is that since I installed WIN7 on my Netbook, and thats some time now, nothing like this ever happend before.

Thanks, and I would do that if I would have a System Restore point from before still. I don't.
Is there anything else known that could have triggered this weird behaviour. A Win Update or whatever. Because I don't know why this happens just now, instead of before at home as well where WIN7 was installed over a longer period of time already. I didnt really install any new Software that I don't know of.

Why these DPC's that make the system so laggy. I downloaded a tool to analyse DPC's but I don't really am that into the whole tech stuff to understand what it all means. I remember I had DPC's back causing problems back then with my XP on my main PC, long ago. And changing drivers fixed the issue back then. But I didnt really changed drivers or updated them before or while I went/am on vacation. So I dont really understand why this is happening now.

Couple of suggestions.

1) Boot into safe mode, then check if the problem persists. if it doesnt, its probably a 3rd party driver issue.

2) Try taking your battery out and running the machine on AC power. Does the problem persist?

3) That update you were talking about, try identifying it by the date, then uninstall it. Again check if the issue persists.

Updates before then were longer ago, before the vacations. One question, what has the battery to do with issues like described above ?

Bad batteries can cause it.

If you downloaded a Windows update it should of created a restore point to the best of my knowledge.
