There is now a "Fix it for me" link at:

Event ID 4107 or Event ID 11 is logged in the Application log in Windows and in Windows Server

24 hours now and no Cap12 Errors!

Know what I think? Well, I think that you came here with a question, which you resolved yourself. Then you came back to report to the other members the solution. That is truly great forum spirit. I will award you with half the rep that you need for a skilled badge. Share your expertise with us again and I am sure that you will have a badge soon.

Thanks rich46. I am not much of a techie and I have spent a lot of time trawling around the net trying to resolve this one. Many of the fixes were reported not to work and some seemed to be beyond my abilities although I might have been able to have a go at the manual fix given a bit of time which I don't have. But why has it taken Microsoft so long to post an auto fix.

I know this is a year late, but I registered here just to echo richc46. I have had this CAP12 error for a while and I just fixed it with the link you gave. It's really rare to find actual solutions using these types of tech forums. I always seem to find the 3 year old threads without any resolution, with pages and pages of people saying "this happens for me too! help!". Thanks so much for the followup, Judesman.

I found that clearing the SSL state in Internet Properties - Content did it for me but I only use one account for the Internet.

Sarahnade, pleased to be able to help, it doesn't happen very often! (I'm not sure where the tag skilled has come from)
