Do not convert to a Dynamic Volume. You nearly wiped out everything on your HD.

Make your Recovery Disks now before doing anything else, as you'll likely need them and the Recov partition may not run.

Try using free Partition Wizard bootable CD to create and format a Logical partition since you have used up your 4 Primary partitions allowed. If you don't have a bootable CD drive you can use the Windows version.

I believe you can install Linux to Logical as you can Win7/XP, however Windows cannot be booted from Logical so if you plan to use GRUB to manage your boot then research if it will install to Logical. If not, you may need to delete the HP tools partition is you don't need any of it's useless utilities, or we can help you delete and recover the SysReserved partition into Win7 since it's boot will be superceded by GRUB anyway.

I have windows 7 with 300Gb of harddrive, I shrink it and thus create another partition, now here is the problem ....I cannot allocate this partition (132.57Gb)..It says :- "there is not enough space available on disk to complete this operation. Any ideas what I am doing wrong kind people
