Please MS No more of those HUGE plastic boxes for W7

    Hi there

Now W7 is making its inevitable progress to RTM and final can I make a plea to MS to abandon those HORRIBLE THICK plastic boxes like they use for VISTA for shipping W7 in (and being more environmentally friendly as well).

    1) Really awkward for storage space if you keep the original packaging.

    2) If you don't keep the original packaging then assuming a possible market of several million copies of W7 -- that's a HUGE amount of non bio-degradable plastic going out to Landfill -- enevironmentally very bad indeed.

    3) If you buy and receive W7 by "Snail Mail" -- the old fashioned Postal system then it will cost more for shipping - the trucks need more space hence will use more gas etc etc.

    4) They look ugly anyway.

    Cheers

    +1 Jimbo

Just an ordinary DVD will do.

    Less cumbersome
    Easy storage
    Easier on the eyes LOL

Buy the OEM, that's how it comes with Vista, just a simple DVD case in a paper sleeve.

Haha I liked the Vista Box in terms of design. But yea, it was huge.

Btw, I don't know if was like Office 2007 box, because the Office 07 box was a PAIN to open XD. Like, how many products do you know that need an instruction manual to open the box itself? >_<

    Hi all
Even in this short post the consensus seems to be a big majority HATE those old VISTA (and Office 2007) boxes.

Maybe the MVP people in the Forum could forward this to MS and save MS a lot of money too by making the manufacturing and shipping processes cheaper. Even if the actual cost plus extra shipping and storage space is as low as 25 US cents this is still a lot of money when multiplied by several million times.

Even MS would surely be interested in saving a Million dollars (even if this is probably the salary of one of their lawyers).

    Cheers
