Windows 7 Won't Show Password Hint

I noticed this a few times when I'm logging back onto my computer. If I screw up the password (usually because I push two keys at once sometimes), on the second try and all other tries after that, the computer won't show my password hint. On my dad's laptop, if I screw up the password, on the second try, it will show the password hint. Why won't my computer show my hint?

Sounds like account corruption. Open a new account, as a test, and see if it works. If it does, trasfer everything to the new account (use windows easy transfer) and delete the old.

    Try changing / Resetting it:

Create or change a password hint

I think I know what's going on. When I created the new account and switched users (I didn't log off), my old account began showing the password hint again. Then I started experimenting. It turns out my password hint will only show up if I switch users, log off, restart, or shut down. It will not show up if I lock my computer, hibernate it, or put it to sleep. I had no idea of this, but it turns out that this is what happens. I tested this with my dad's computer and the same thing happens. The only reason his showed a password hint and mine didn't is because I hibernate my computer, but my dad shuts down his and so do I when I use it.

Thanks for your suggestion though. Even though nothing was wrong, it helped me figure out what was going on. :)

The only thing that really matters is that your system is working right, again.
