    *URGENT* i5-750 or Phenom II x4 965?

I stated urgent because I MUST order one of the 2 today.

They are around the same price, so I am thinking about which one to purchase. Specifically, which one of these 2 computers would perform better?

    Newegg.com - iBUYPOWER Gamer Extreme 555D3 Phenom II X4 965(3.4GHz) 4GB DDR3 500GB ATI Radeon HD 5770 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

    Newegg.com - CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme 1050 Intel Core i5 750(2.66GHz) 4GB DDR3 1TB ATI Radeon HD 5770 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Also, the Phenom computer has no NewEgg reviews, so I don't know if it is faulty or not. However, the i5 750 PC has several reviews stating that it is good.

Which PC would be better to purchase?

I'd go with the reviews, i.e. with Intel. Myself I have always been buying Intel and never had any problems. On the other hand I would not call either of the configurations "extreme".

I'd go Intel, but at the same time, I'd prefer to save some cash and build it myself.

They are actually close in performance. Where the Intel Core i5 clearly wins is power draw.

Did you miss his comment that the price was pretty much the same between them? So, how could AMD be more bang for the buck????? That was true about 5 years ago...but not necessarily the case these days.

So, if price is the same, and performance is pretty much the same, but the power draw is much less on the Intel...it seems a clear winner in my book.

    Intel Core i5 no doubt.

AMD, bulldozer has a huge possibility of being AM3 and the ability for a bios update might allow current AM3 boards to support it. A cheaper future update as I'd say, so I'd go with AMD just for that. Also the OC ability of AMD is amazing, I've seen 4GHz on air and that's crazy talk.

[edit] I also got my X2 to an X4, so I saved like 40 bucks or something? Yeah Phenom II x2(x4)@3.5 for like 80 bucks. =)
