    Space Key Causing Problems!

This is getting extremely annoying. Don't know if it's Window 7 or not, but please someone help.

3/5 times when I hit the space key, the next key I hit doesn't register. I have it hit it twice then go on typing the word, until I get to the next spcae key...I have to type the first letter of the next word twice.

Then sometimes it stops doing this altogether...then starts again somehow. I've no clue what is causing this. Google searches come up with the function the "insert" key provides, but that is not the problem.

New. Less than a year old. This also didn't happen right away, I've had Windows 7 installed since the RC dropped, but this has only been happening the past few days.

I don't have anything unusual installed. Just standard software...CCLeaner, Firefox, Avast!, VLC, etc..

Just wonder if you have a sticky key because of dirt.

It does stick a little. Never thought it would cause something like this. Had some jelly ooze out of a PB&J a while ago. I guess I should clean it up better.

there you go then. Just lift the key cap off with a (not too sharp) knife and youl be able to clean it.

Wow. Thanks man. I lifted the key and there was a clump of nasty old jelly just sitting there.

Got my haz-mat suit and flick it off. The space key works great now.

    lol! glad it helped.

I did see an article in a magazine i read once that said you could put the keyboard in the washing machine (wrapped in a towel) and wash it that way, but I wouldnt recommend it.
