Javaws.exe *32 is multiplying on my process list Windows 7 SP1

Running windows 7 SP1 on an HP Pavilion with an i5.
I have the system disconnected from the network now and won't reconnect until fixed.
I had Norton running but shut it down as I blamed it for the lag. Then I saw the process list on taskmanager filled with javaws.exe *32.
Ran malwarebytes with no issue found and have Defender running but the javaws.exe is killing connectivity.
It prevented a java update from completing. Prevents Defender from updating but not from scanning.
I do I shut off Javaws.exe?
How do I determine the cause?

If you dont use Java, uninstall it from programs/features, or if you do need it!, go to
Controlpanel>> administration tools >> services >> scroll to it Right click >> properties >> start up type to manual.

From some cursory Google research online, it looks like Javaws.exe is a program used by Java, but can also be compromised and used to deliver malware payloads into an infected computer.

I would consider this as an infection, particularly since it seems to be self replicating, and is preventing Java and your security software from updating.

I found a method of removal, though I suggest you do the manual removal method as I'm unfamiliar with the site it comes from. Use the site at your own risk!

At the very least, remove Java if you don't absolutely need it, or at least until you get rid of the infestation, as Torchwood recommends.
