Permission denied to copy my own files

Hi there,

I know there have been a lot of tutorial/tips on how to deal with permission when you need to copy files on Windows 7. I have turned off UAC, take the ownership of the folder and all sub-folders/files ... but still I have not been able to copy quite a few files in one of my folder.

Windows 7 (Ultimate/64bit) pop up a warning box saying that I need a permission from myself to be able to copy those files. If I click Yes, it still won't happen.

Is there any fix to this? Thank you.

Thanks for your replies.

I have take the ownership of the files and gave myself permission. But I still can't copy the file ... in fact I don't have read permission on the files.

I tried lockhunter and it didn't help.

The files are image files ... free icons that I downloaded from the Internet sometime ago.

You may want to try enabling the Built-in Administrator Account and copying the files. This should then make minor changes to the file permissions, allowing for future copying.
