Win 7 install crashes at beginning of install

I bought this through the Student deals, which is operated through a 3rd party. Would that effect the hash?

Edit: Did you DL the 32 bit or the 64 Home Premium ?

Yes, it was through digital river and it was the 64 home premium.

Is your download link still valid, that you could DL the .iso file again, as it might have got corrupted.

I am downloading it now. I will let you know what happens, luckily I ordered the DVD Rom as well I am just waiting for that to arrive via snail mail.

Are you downloading with Wireless, as wireless can corrupt?

If burning new ISO to DVD using ImgBUrn at 4x speed with Verify doesn't help, try writing it to flash stick using this tool with Windows7 in the drop-down menu: Universal USB Installer – Easy as 1 2 3 | USB Pen Drive Linux

Then boot the stick under USB or HD's in BIOS boot order or using one-time BIOS boot menu given on first screen.

So the official DVD came in the mail this morning, but I get the same result. So you think my next step should be to wipe my HDD using that tutorial Doc Brown supplied? Any other hardwear things I should try first?

This tutorial makes reference to a windows 7 repair disc, can I still use that running XP?

Yep, I think you need to have a wiped Clean HD at this point, for success

You don't need to worry about the repair Disc since you have the Full win7 Installer Disc. Boot to it, & follow the Tutorial to use Diskpart to wipe & clean HD

I dont even get to the screen where it asks me for a language. will the Shift + F10 work before that screen?

So the new DVD you got in the mail won't boot as the 1st thing and get to this screen ?

No, itll boot from DVD but thats about it, I am charging my old laptop now so I can see the exact instructions while I am booting up. I will be back in a few.

You need to have the win7 DVD boot as the first thing when you power ON. Dis-connect all un-necessary USB connected devices. Basicaly only keyboard, mouse, monitor.

Yup, same result. I thought maybe hitting the space bar would do something different, but no same error. Got another way to wipe the HDD?
