The PC may not die but it is obviously changing shape and form and as well the traditional PC is taking a serious back seat. If you look at the development cycle of Intel there priority is ARM chips not so much in enhancing multi-core CPU. ARM chips being in almost all devices, from netbooks to mobile phones. There was a point when desktops were king, then came laptops, now it's netbooks / mobile devices. I think economics play a role as well. In most of the world people want to be connected but don't have the income, how would WinTel make revenue if they kept selling $2K laptops, they wouldn't which is why there is a serious decline in laptops of that price range selling. Obviously doing any serious number crunching work is not going to work on a mobile phone or network, but internet will and that is their (whoever their is) whole point getting most people connected, what that leads too is unsure because it brings up serious questions, if you take down the grid you cut off communication and we as a society have become so dependent on our mobile devices and the net including myself that you have to wonder is this all another form of a drug ?
Google, Apple, Microsoft, Intel are the main market players they manipulate the masses, they control government, they are part of a dozen who control government. Just think Facebook, Twitter store everything you write what if that is used against you ? Your bank information is online, mine isn't but if "someone" wanted to find out who you are unless you have kept a tight lid on the information you post online, they can from how much money you spend per day to where you shop, to your favorite music. Is that a good thing ? I'm becoming more skeptical the older generation find this technology amazing, the older generation being 50+ yrs of age I don't think the young or the old or many for that matter know the ramifications of all this there will be consequences, how can their not be Google runs the Internet, one company runs the internet, one company digest for a minute. The internet is suppose to be an open freedom of speech medium but the government does want to change this, as they have in china. Close it up even more and that is easy when one or two companies controlling the internet. The net is still is free as in freedom of speech but will it last ?
