Been Playing Alice. Only a couple of hours, but from what ive played it's pretty good. It takes me back to games like Pyschonauts, a true acid trip if ive ever experienced one.

Yea, I do not normally like these type of games, but this one is pretty good
I find myself curious as to just what lies ahead.

You need to Edit the .ini file at:

Documents/My Games/Alice Madness Returns/Alice Game/Config

Open the AliceEngine.ini and do a search for Smoothed.

You have 2 options here.
Change-
MaxSmoothedFrameRate=31 to MaxSmoothedFrameRate=60


OR you can also disable framerate smoothing altogther.

Change- bSmoothFrameRate=True to bSmoothFrameRate=FALSE

I found this method worked best on my setup.
In fact, I also disabled Vsync in the ini and then forced it on in the Nvidia Control Panel as well as Turning on Tripple Buffering.

Either way will let the game run at 60FPS though.

I tried that and it said the game has been modified or tampered with and it crashed to desktop.

Fluffy Did you modify the right .ini? I tried it and it worked out just fine, i saw that the Frame Rate went up. I had fraps on, before i did it i saw 29-32. I see 50-60 now

I decided to install Dungeon Siege1/ Legends of Aranna too
Never heard of that mod but I definitely gonna install it.
Don't like DS2/DS3. The first is still the best

Fluffy Did you modify the right .ini? I tried it and it worked out just fine, i saw that the Frame Rate went up. I had fraps on, before i did it i saw 29-32. I see 50-60 now

Never heard of that mod but I definitely gonna install it.
Don't like DS2/DS3. The first is still the best

nice one - me too - DS1/LOA is still a masterpiece..

don't forget Xaa's two brilliant mods - Mageworld and Lands Of Hyperborea
they're all his own work (with a little assistance from friends..) - both games
are a great challenge - Xaa has re-written the rule-book..

rich in story and full of Xaa's off-beat humour, both mods offer a tough challenge
- expect the games to be real head-scratchers..

I played this demo (on my other computer that I sold) and I'm trying to find out the name of the game.
It was first person. You started out learning combat and magic/spells taught by a mage? Then you made your way through a cave to a large cavern. You had to fight Orcs to make your way to a castle I think. You could kill them with your bow/arrow, knife or lure them to a ledge and kick/push them off. Graphics weren't the best, but the demo seemed fun.
Any thoughts on it's name or reviews if you played it?

OK. I think it's name is: Dark Messiah of Might and Magic
Anybody play it? Thoughts?

Yes, I played it. It's a very funny game, but after you completed it once or twice it's no fun anymore. Just try to get your opponent in front of spikes/flames/environment objects etc. or shoot your freeze spell on the floor and watch the funny show of soldiers falling down. Gameplay isn't that good but the killing methods are hilarious.

Thats wierd, and sorry to say Ive not seen this issue. Im not even sure what would be causing it.

Is your game Legit? Errors regarding file tampering, are caused by cracks, if im not mistaken. Or it could just be a faulty installation.

I've bought so many games in the past year and I don't think I'll have time to play many of them.

I think so, but I'm also the guy who didn't think Portal 2 was worth 50 bucks so.....

Anyway for the FPS action junky FEAR 3 has a ton of action; it is short on the "fear" factor though - At least through the first 4 levels.

What I do hate, and tonight is a prime example of why, are those darn "progression saves" - you know, the ones where your saves are based on progress.

Well here's my deal - I was working my way real good through level 4 - put a good amount of time in it, and I'm 90 percent sure I was near the end of the chapter when all of a sudden I get a mission fail :huh:

Now I don't know what happened, but I suddenly found myself back at the very beginning of the level 4. Are you kidding me???? WTF???

At any rate I now have the pleasure of replaying most of level 4..... again, because it appears I (or the game) deleted all my progress saves made through the level.... Fuuuuuuuuuu**

Outside of that BS the game is pretty good, and performance is good as well. I do however get the occasional stuttering every now and then. I think turning off/lowering shadows may fix the issue, they are rather funky looking anyway - same as they looked in the first game.

Oh, the ambient sounds are something to behold. A good pair of headphones or nice surround sound systems puts that creep factor in the game.... even if you aren't jumping out your seat.
