you forgot the most important program: winlirc! i know its old! but it still rocks. (at least if you have a com-port and can solder at a minimum-level)
its working even under win 7 x64 and there are even some pretty popular programs still suporting it. (Media player classic, winamp) and in case its not suported: try autohotkey! they have an example-script which enables you to map any action to any command send by remote!

so in my oppinion, winlirc definately should be on the list. and i would guess it would even work with some rs232-to-usb-converter.

hi

im still running xp pro. i avoided vista i was afraid of it. but all i read and from friends too. say w7 is sweet and the betas are better than vista ever was. so. i bought the w7 hp upgrade for 50 bucks from newegg [offer ends 7-11-09]. and will get it in oct. i plan to upgrade my mem to 8gigs and run 64bit. my system specs are in profile area. but.

ive been reading a lot and checking to see that all my programs i use now will work with w7. all i do is surf a lil and upload movies to youtube etc. i make playing pc fps type games and take screen shots and upload to imageshack to post in forums etc. i make in game movies with either full versions of zdsoft game recorder 2.0.1.0 or fraps. using fraps i have to convert the videos.. i use free- any video converter. its the very best quality converter ive used and ive used many.. virtual dub is not bad but is not favc.. im disabled so all i do is game some 17 hours a day 365.. and have over 1,700 on youtube and have about 700 more to upload now. any way..

i sent email to avc and asked if its program works with vista and or w7 and 64 bit the answer was yes.. i can not test it yet but wanted to let you folks know it is said it will work with w7 both 32 and 64 bit.. im very happy about that my self.. the program is easy to use and makes flat out lovely videos. the batch converter is sweet too. so my step up to w7 should be pretty easy. tho i have to learn how to use it. i already know my zd game recorder will not work with w7. but zd has a new do all combo desk top and game recorder that will work with vista etc. so im good to go.. in the future and if all is good with w7. i think i will buy the full version of avc..

well i haven't read all forty pages, only the list in the OP.

i can't see KMPlayer in there - it has now become my video player of choice, since having issues with VLC and win7.

it's free, plays all the usual formats, it's highly tweakable and works great on my build 7232 64bit!

Active ISO Burner-for the ISO burning
ExtractNow-very small but powerful and free extractor
Cabos-small alternative to limewire, frostwire, bearshare, etc.

I don't recommend SuperAntiSpyware if you're running build 7077. It did a reboot without proper shutdown during install on my system. Got it off and ran a restore point pronto!!

All I can say is the installer was just about done and it asked me what language I wanted to use. Clicked the OK button under English and bye bye system!! It must've got a critical error and the system rebooted. Don't need that aggravation. Seems to work fine in Vista64. Go figure!

Yep, you're right. I just tested it again on a 32-bit 7100 build in a VM, and it froze up at the same point during the end of installation. I have added a warning that it only works in 64-bit Windows 7 for now.

Can you post a warning about CCleaner also...if you run the reg cleaner and disk cleaner it will remove files important to the interoperability of Bluetooth, Device Stage, and Windows Speech Recognition (there could be more)

I verified (sadly) that its still a problem on 7264 (good to go after a format/reinstall)
