Why have we put everyone above 55 years in one group. I am over 81 and I suggest that over 55s should be broken down into 5 groups namely 55 to 60, 61 to 70, 71 to 85, 86 to 100 and > 100.

I think it is not at all fair to lump all over 55 in one group.

SevenForums has more than 123,000 registered members. It would be interesting to see the breakdown of age groups that are registered here. rb:

I fall into the high end group, pity not everyone will vote, just to see the overall picture.
Statistics would have us believe that allegedly silver surfers are now the majority of the online community.
But then we all know that 72% of statistics are made up on the spot !

Polls only allow for 10 options, and before it started I had no idea about how many age brackets I would find here. That was the reason for the poll in the first place.

I'm not sure you would find many users here > 100 - possible, but not probable.

Mmm. I think you are being overly sensitive : no one is treating anyone as anything. As for also-rans, far from it....please read on.

The very reason I started the poll was because I suspected that the most active members here are older than I thought they may be (I'm 41 for the record). The poll was designed to test the myth that its the younger generation (lets say <25 for arguments sake) that grasp technology well (or better than the older generation). The poll has proved, with the current sampling, that the > 55's have as good, if not a better grasp, of Windows 7 and related technology. In my own personal experience here, I can confidently say that with only a few exceptions, its the > 55's that have taught me the most here. In fact, for me personally its given a new meaning to "respect for your elders". If you fall in that age bracket, then its a big plus for you

PS: One of the reasons that there are fewer persons in 31 to 50 age brackets may be that they busy earning the bread for there families. The very young and over 55s have more time on there hands to keep fiddling with their Computers.
