Numerous BSODs over last 2/3 days, dont know cause.

Ive posted on this forum before at this thread and i got some good advice, which sorted my problem, so i was hoping i could get some help again. That thread was below and the crashes im having are of a similar pattern to those crashes.

Over the last 3 or so days my computer has begun crashing and giving me a BSOD fairly frequently, ive downloaded and installed alot of largish games recently as i had access to a download speed of 10MB/s so i took full advantage of it.

Any help is appreciated.

Some system info.

OS: Windows 7 Professional x64
PSU: i5 2500k
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3
Ram: 8GB 1600MHz 9-9-9-24 (2x4GB sticks)
Graphics Card: Nvidia GTS 450
Hard Drives: 1TB (OS on this one), 160GB (Storage)
PSU: 1Kw

Drivers

Update your NVIDIA video card drivers from the below link. Rather than doing a typical install, select custom and perform a clean install.

The following drivers need to be updated:

gdrv.sys         Fri Mar 13 14:22:29 2009

These drivers can be found by searching them in Google and then finding the associated software or driver. Finally, find the latest version of this driver or software and download and install it. Some of the drivers may also be found here (if the driver says 'Windows Update' simply make sure all Windows Updates are installed).

You should also update any other drivers you can think of including graphics, audio, chipset, SSD etc.

I found that this was a Gigabyte programs driver and my previous problem seemed to be a gigabyte program that was running so i removed all remaining gigabyte programs and got rid of the file.

Have done so and i believe there were no errors.

I believe following these steps has helped to reduce the regularity of the crashes, although that may be my imagination. I am still getting crashes however, Ill attach another zip that was created from following the instructions.

Some of the crashes are still caused byyour NVIDIA graphics driver. Try installing a beta version rather than the the normal driver.

Install the latest version of DirectX.
Download: DirectX End-User Runtime - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

Make sure all Windows updates are installed.

No result with that im afraid, but my problem has actually gotten worse now.

After a couple of crashes my computer really started to slow down and i would get random activity freezes until eventually nothing would respond, my mouse was still working but nothing was happening on the computer.

I then restarted the computer to come across a unmountable_boot_volume BSOD error everytime i tried to start the computer, i then ran startup repair and I could get past that, i then had the same BSOD i was having before and on next start up it automatically ran chkdsk and detected and did some things.

then the same thing happened with the responsiveness and it ran chkdsk again and did some more stuff, now i can get on the computer for about 10 mins before it starts freezing again (edit: this happened the first couple of times, ive now been on for about 30 mins with no sign of it freezing so the time could vary).

To me it seems like theres something wrong with the hard drive.

Follow option 2 here and run the following:

chkdsk /r c:
chkdsk /r d:
chkdsk /r e:
chkdsk /r f:​

Run a http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/3413-repair-install.html. It should fix your current version and Windows 7 but preserve your data, programs, user accounts etc.

Heres the zip file.

ive run chkdsk once and everything was fine for a few hours then the computer started running slow again. So ive run it again so i could use the computer.

Ill run it again later on and do a repair install.

Have you run the chkdsk yet?

Run a full system scan with Malwarebytes.
